Kargil Vijay Diwas observed on 26th July every year

On this day, we remember the extreme valour, sacrifice and exemplary courage of Indian soldiers during the 1999 Kargil war.

The Kargil War fought between May-July of 1999 in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC) in which India got the victory. 

Restartindia portal for MSMEs launched by Muthoot Finance

It is launched to help MSME sector in order to restart businesses across the country.

Muthoot Fincorp and INKtalks, a free and open platform for advisory support, have jointly conceptualised the portal.

It will also help on how to run or establish a sustainable business venture complying the   government rules.

RBI agrees $400 mn currency swap with Sri Lanka

It will help SriLanka to boost the foreign reserves and ensure the financial stability of the country, which is badly hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The currency swap arrangement will be valid till November 2022.

Haryana will host  the Khelo India Youth Games 2021

The announcement was made by the Union sports minister Kiren Rijiju  and state’s chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar via video conference.It will be held in Panchkula,Haryana.

Lieutenant Governor of J&K , Girish Chandra Murmu announces launch of ‘Macadamisation Program’

The program is for the improvement of roads across Jammu and Kashmir.

Macadamisation means  to construct or finish a road by compacting into a solid mass a layer of small broken stone on a convex well-drained roadbed and using a binder (such as cement or asphalt) for the mass.It cover 11,000 km of fair-weather roads.


Department of Science and Technology launches programme for India-Russia Science & Technology cooperation

Department of Science and Technology (DST) in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE) of the Russian Federation has launched The India-Russia Joint Technology Assessment and Accelerated Commercialization Programme.

DST will fund up to Rs 15 Crores to 10 Indian SMEs/Start-ups for a period of two years.

The device has been developed by Qual5 India Pvt.Ltd, a startup co-founded by a woman entrepreneur,funded by IIMKs business incubator and entrepreneurship development centre.

Veli Band helps implement social distancing and location/contact tracing

The band momentarily vibrates, sounds buzzer, and flashes LED simultaneously to notify wearers that another band is within 3 feet (1 metre).

It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology for detection and uses rechargeable Battery.

Indian team’s 2018 Asian Games silver medal upgraded to gold

The silver medal of the Indian 4×400 mixed relay team’s 2018 Asian Games, Jakarta has been upgraded to gold due to the disqualification of Bahrain squad that finished first in the 4×400 mixed relay final.The Bahrain squad was disqualified as Kemi Adekoya of Bahrain has been handed a 4-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit for failing a dope test.The Indian 4×400 mixed relay quartet was Mohammed Anas, MR Poovamma, Hima Das and Arokia Rajiv for 2018 Asian Games.
