India & UK tie-up for new Medicinal Research

India and UK have tied-up for five new medicinal research projects worth 8 million pounds. Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, The Minister of State for South Asia and the Commonwealth has announced the funding. It will help to tackle the anti-microbial resistance to support the combat against antibiotic-resistant bacteria and genes during his ‘virtual visit’ to India.

Narendra Singh Tomar releases booklet on 'Best Practices in Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme

Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Narendra Singh Tomar released a booklet on ‘Best Practices in Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP).

The DILRMP has 3 major components - (a) Computerization of land record (b) Survey/re-survey (c) Computerization of Registration. 

The main aims of DILRMP are

to usher in a system of updated land records,

automated and automatic mutation,

integration between textual and spatial records,

inter-connectivity between revenue and registration,

to replace the present deeds registration and presumptive title system with that of conclusive titling with title guarantee.

Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has released the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes Pack through Video Conferencing.ARHC as a sub-scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) as part of Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. World Sanskrit Day 2020 observed on 03 August

UAE becomes the 1st Arab Nation to open a Nuclear Power Plant

The United Arab Emirates became the first Arab country to open a nuclear power plant,  Barakah Nuclear Plant(unit 1) in Abu Dhabi, got operational on 31 July 2020. The plant is powered by South Korean technology and is situated in the Al Dhafrah region of Abu Dhabi. It will produce 5.6 gigawatts of electricity and meet up to 25% of the UAE’s electricity needs.
